Vía Raíz invites you to come learn about Mexico’s emerging designers who are partnering with Mexican artisans to ring in the new era of Mexican craft.
Vía Raíz is a place where Mexican craftsmanship meets modern design. Shop owner, Jennifer Bolanos, curates the work of contemporary Mexican designers whose work celebrates tradition and honors the Mexican artisan. The symbiotic union between the artisan and the designer is the framework for the new era of Mexican design.
Join Jennifer for a copita de mezal as you explore the work of designers, like Mely Avila and Carla Fernandez, who collaborate with artisans to create modern and innovative pieces using traditional materials and methods of production, such as the use of a foot loom, backstrap loom, and natural dyes. Also, on display, is Caralarga, a vanguard jewelry line from Queretaro, famous for their use of raw cotton as its key material.
