Preserving Textiles: Made Easy
October 16 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The beauty of preservation and conservation is that if we do our job well, no one will notice we’ve been there.
October 11 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Personal family histories include not only photos and documents but also textiles, such as quilts, rugs, lace, embroidery, clothing, and flags. These pieces can carry incredible stories, but there is also power in the simple fact that it was worn, collected, displayed, or created by a member of the family from the past to the present. Similar to caring for old photographs and letters, there are a few simple preservation steps to ensure that these pieces will last into the future.
