Wild Knits: Beginning Knitting with Rachel Bratcher
October 6 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Learn basic knitting stitches with plant-dyed yarns.
Curious about knitting? Love naturally-dyed fiber? Let’s bring these passions together! This one-day workshop pairs plant-dyed yarns with basic knitting stitches, in a friendly and supportive environment designed for beginners.
Join instructor Rachel Bratcher of Ritual Dyes to learn her simple techniques for casting on, knit and purl stitches, and binding off. In addition to conversation and demonstrations on knitting, this class will also explore the multitude of colors available to home dyers, with resources for those who are more interested in purchasing plant-dyed yarns. Rachel will help students select yarn and colors that complement their personal style, designing either a cowl or scarf.
No previous experience necessary. Open to students 16 & up.
